The primary purpose of this site is to allow me to publish my sightings of white-throated dippers (cinclus cinclus).

My love of watching and recording these gorgeous wee birds started in the middle of 2021 when I spotted one feeding on caddis-fly-type larvae in the Dighty Burn (Flickr). Since then I’ve kept an eye out for them during my weekly walks around the Seven Arches (Balmossie) Viaduct area of the Dighty Burn in Monifieth and Broughty Ferry in Scotland.

I’ve started by creating pages for sightings of each of the different “birds” (non-ringed birds are not uniquely identifiable from camera images) accessible via the Birds page. In future I intend to have separate pages for each visit where one or more dippers were sighted and recorded: those pages will have links to the images associated with the sightings.

All the images that I’ve taken of dippers are in this Flickr album. I also have separate Flickr albums for each “bird”.
